Welcoming Carole Pugh to New Art Gallery
We are thrilled to introduce Carole Pugh, the newest artist to exhibit with New Art Gallery! Carole’s rich artistic journey began at just eight years old, when her grandad gifted her sixpence each week to buy drawing books—a passion that quickly flourished. Since then, Carole has trained as a textile artist, illustrated over 20 natural history and local history books, and designed greeting cards for renowned companies like Royle Publications, Medici, and Hallmark.
Now retired, Carole enjoys the freedom of painting nearly every day, creating dozens of captivating pieces. Her love for
painting, especially in oils and watercolours, shines through her wide-ranging subjects, from wildlife to nostalgic scenes.
Carole’s ‘Lancashire Street Life In The Fifties ‘series—currently available for sale in her gallery—captures the heart of Northern England’s street life with vivid authenticity and charm. These pieces transport you to a simpler time, evoking the warmth and hustle of the mid-century era.
As Carole says, “Painting is such a soothing activity. It’s something I enjoy deeply, and I feel like I’m improving all the time.” Her dedication is evident in every brushstroke, and we’re excited to share her art with you.
Whether you’re seeking Prints, Posters, or Art Cards, Carole’s works are available in a variety of sizes and price points to suit any budget.
