The River Runs Deep” is an ethereal abstract seascape oil painting triptych comprising of 3 x 40 x 30cm (16 x 12 inches) on 4cm (1.5 inch) deep canvases.

When hung together they are 40 x 90cm on the wall without gaps or 40 x1 00cm if you put a 5cm gap between them.

They are inspired by the River Thames at night. I have lived near the river in Hammersmith for 25 years and I’m soon to leave to move to the sea in Sussex, so this triptych painting is full of reflection! It’s titled from The Water by Johnny Flynn

It’s painted in shades of blue, black and white . The paint is layered, blended and slightly textured in parts. It is glazed to protect the surface and has a slight glossy sheen. The painting continues around the sides of the canvasses and they is signed on the back.
