Neil Baglow

'Mum' by featured artist Neil Baglow

Neil Baglow trained at the Birmingham College of Art & Design and subsequently at Manchester Polytechnic School of Graphic Design.

He worked as an Art Director in leading London Advertising Agencies before setting up his own business in Leigh and later in Salford.

His work covers a wide range of subject matter including landscape, portraiture, farm animal studies and a unique exploration of the work of 17th Century Dutch engravers.

Neil works in oil and acrylics and uses strong colour, intense light and is fascinated by the detail found in both organic and inorganic materials.

Ena Mann

As a child brought up by a widowed mother, Ena Mann drew constantly and painted in watercolours.

Later in life, after a career and motherhood, she discovered the joy of painting in oils and travelled widely at home and abroad, nearly always painting from life ‘en plein air’.

Her landscapes show her love of the Scottish Highlands and Islands, the Lake District and the West Pennine Moors.

Her current work has become less representational and more impressionistic which she feels is the route to ultimate satisfaction as an artist.

Tracy Calderbank

Tracy Calderbank’s degree in Fine Art explored photo manipulation of the imagery of nature, skilfully combining her photography and photoshop skills.

However, her work is also inspired by ancient crafts incorporating fading traditional skills with contemporary expression. This has led her to experimenting with different mediums including ceramics and textiles.

Fundamentally, Tracy is concerned with the interplay of detail, shapes, light and shadow.

She is an artist who expresses herself through the disciplines and practised skills of a craftsperson.
