Karen Wise
Wise is a North-West England based artist.
She began her career over 20 years ago and has successfully exhibited throughout the UK.
Her primary mediums are water-based used in an expressive and slightly surreal presentation. Her work is notable for its strong, flowing and rhythmical forms.
Wise powerfully conveys mood and movement whether describing human form or exploring still-life objects.
Her work often achieves a deeply emotional and almost spiritual response to the subject which is then further developed using her powers of imagination.
Helen Worthington
Worthington is a North Wales and Northern England based artist.
Her two main areas of interest are the landscapes of North-West England and Anglesey and the wildlife of the British Isles.
The romantic coastline of Anglesey and views towards Snowdonia are a constant source of inspiration. The magical Isle with its many secluded bays and coves offers an almost infinite variety of creative possibilities.
In her animal pictures Worthington seeks to convey the very ‘soul’ of the creature depicted.
She employs watercolours, inks, line and wash, acrylics and pastels and often combines these elements to achieve the unique look and texture of her work.
Pat Richardson
Richardson initially trained at art college as a graphic designer, subsequently working in local government in illustration and design.
She left this career behind to pursue her dream of becoming a full-time landscape artist.
Richardson is fascinated by how light influences our perceptions of landscape and how colours change with different light.
In order to best communicate this she has developed a broadly watercolour-based technique combined with mixed media incorporating collage, textural materials, acrylics, inks and various ‘dry’ mediums.
The effect is a richly textured and vibrantly coloured presentation.
Richardson acknowledges her primary influences as Robert Dutton and Chris Fossey.
